I don't know why I've been thinking about this lately, but I have. And as we all know, that's good enough for Mojo.

Years ago, I had a fun, cushy job in academia, in the AV department of a fairly prestigious college. My job was to order, schedule and show all the AV materials the profs needed for their classes. Back then the majority were in 16mm format (when dinosaurs ruled the earth), which, unlike any of today's formats, really needs to be babysat so the film wouldn't suddenly decide to skip a sprocket and self-destruct. Hence I have watched many, many documentary and feature films in a variety of disciplines--anthropology, foreign languages, sociology, art, psychology, first aid, you name it--as well as all the classic oldies like Akira Kurosawa, Sembène Ousmane, blah blah blah. I mention this not to be utterly pretentious but just as a reminiscence of a really great, swell, fun time in life, where I got paid to hang out with cool, intelligent people and watch movies. It turns out my Favorite Husband might be going away on bidness for the rest of the week. He doesn't know yet. Since his new car is due for service he will have to take my little pickup and *I* will take the new one, so I can get it to the dealer.  MORE Mojo! »

There are some peripheral figures in Mojo's life that Mojo somewhat vaguely wishes weren't there and would just move on to happier pastures. But Mojo is lazy and does not wish to offend, so as long as they don't inconvenience Mojo too much and they are content to remain in the shadows and only pop up once in a while Mojo is content to let things be. None of this "wind beneath my wings" crap, more like a tick, or some other blood-sucking parasite that's not doing enough damage to scratch out of there once and fer all.  MORE Mojo! »

Sorry I've been remiss lately. Very busy, combined with other events in life are keeping me from my usual blogging responsibilities. And now that my Favorite Husband has a cold, it falls on Mojo to keep life running smoothly. Including getting water.  MORE Mojo! »

I'm thinking "never". They've been hyping the heck out of their latest schlockfest, being an idiotic-looking ripoff of the Terminator franchise, for the past month or two. And then, the last week or so leading up to it, they start hyping it as "the most ANTICIPATED television event" blah blah blah.  MORE Mojo! »
