brain worksMore Movies!Submitted by mojo on Fri, 03/14/2008 - 5:25pm
We saw stuff other than muddy hippies, of course. Ummm, let's see... Well, we re-saw Office Space, which is always entertaining. Stephen Root is just amazing in everything he does. He's a real chameleon, which doesn't look like it's spelled correctly, but it's not being flagged. The thing I most remember about it is "You put salt on my margarita. Big grains of salt." And (this has stuck with me all these years; why I don't know--who really wants to delve into the mind of Mojo, anyway?) the main guy (forget his name) gutting the fish at his desk by ripping the whole lower jaw off. I have never seen that technique before or since. Funny how Mojo's brain works like that. I could be there at the Grand Canyon (which I have never been yet) and in the face of all that apparent majesty I'll be the one trying to figure out how the railing is attached to the posts. That, for the uninitiated, is Mojo-speak for, "For some reason Mojo could not sleep last night. She didn't even attempt to go to bed until midnight, and then laid awake until two, whereupon she gave up the ghost and came downstairs and looked up stupid things on Wikipedia hoping that would bore her to sleepiness, and finally went back to bed around four, only to have her Favorite Husband get up at four-thirty, and the way he bops around the house Mojo might as well get up too, so here she is on maybe an hour's sleep and she'll be pulling a twelve hour shift at the lieberry today so she will be in Fine Fettle when she drags her sorry butt home tonight." Or words to that effect. There is some loss in the translation. MORE Mojo! » |
