So Mojo is one of those poor misinformed people who has never had the opportunity to see certain movie classics. Like Taxi Driver. Sure, I've seen enough clips and parodies you'd SWEAR I've seen it all the way through, but I haven't. (Ditto The Godfather until I was somewhere in my thirties.)

No, this isn't about seeing Taxi Driver, although that's on my to-do list. This is about another movie I've heard so much about most of my life, and I finally got the chance to see it. Midnight Express, the Turkish prison "horror" movie that pretty much everyone my age saw when it first came out and were traumatized for life by it, and then didn't have to have things Explained To Them when scenes were parodied in other movies or TV shows.

Anyway, after twenty years or so of people TALKING INCESSANTLY about it, I finally saw it this weekend.  MORE Mojo! »

Mojo lives by the simplest of philosophies. For those who haven't yet figured it out, here it is in a single cohesive sentence: Any movie that has Will Smith shirtless and doing pull-ups can't be all THAT bad.  MORE Mojo! »

The trailer's up! The trailer's up! The trailer's up! Go ye to their otherwise annoyingly devoid-of-content movie site and there's links for the trailer for the new Sweeney Todd movie! Yay!

Of course, THEY link to Yahoo, which keeps stuttering the movie because they don't seem to let it load on your computer and just streams it. But if you do a search, as I did, for the words "Sweeney Todd Depp" you'll find it on YouTube, where it will load and you can watch it again and again. Not that Mojo did. She's not THAT much of a loser. I'm just saying you COULD.

It was an interesting weekend for movies, I must say. I brought one home from the library, which we watched Friday night, and then the rest of the weekend was Favorite Husband's choice. Which is always interesting.  MORE Mojo! »

As Mojo might have mentioned once or twice in this blog, she was rather severely injured and now has this totally cool scar running down the back of her arm and shoulder blade. It still looks pretty nasty, and Mojo has no idea how it will ultimately look.

Mojo is well aware she will not be winning any bathing suit contests anymore. In fact she has described her scar as something that will give small children nightmares. So she decided, in the interest of child abuse, to put that theory to the test. (Actually it was more of a "whoopsie" sort of thing, but in Mojo's new role as child-scaring horror movie star she prefers to be thought of as an abuser. Sad, huh?)  MORE Mojo! »
