Friends Don't Let Friends Eat Crap.

Like, say, Cool Whip. Usually I refrain from mentioning a specific product unless they do something entirely egregious (*ahem*, Axe commercials), but Cool Whip belongs on that short list because I believe it is one of the nastiest chemical substances I have ever encountered. Is there the slightest bit of "natural" in this product? I think not. Wired Magazine refers to its primary ingredients--only somewhat tongue in cheek--as a "delicious blend of sugar, wax, and condom lube".

Even Twinkies--at least they used to; can't say I know much about them nowadays--used LARD in their filling. Yep, Twinkies cream was essentially sugar and lard, whipped together. Cool Whip can't even claim that. Seeing how you can get real sweetened whipped cream in a can, why would ANYONE stain a perfectly good dessert with Cool Whip? I just don't get it.  MORE Mojo! »

Done Flew Da Coop...

So yesterday I took my daily pictures of the little spudlings in their nest. And this morning when skipping out for whatever it is I do all day, I glanced in and shore nuff they were all there, looking up at me.

I was a teeny wee bit worried because my Favorite Husband looked in on them yesterday when he got home from work and he very casually asked something along the lines of "Ummm...are they still alive? Because I didn't see them breathing or moving or anything."  MORE Mojo! »

FINALLY!

Okay, hopefully this will work. It's been a while since I've embedded an flv. Oh, and by the way, if you are the sort who would be squeamish looking at a big squirming pile of maggots, you might not want to click on this. Just a warning.

Of course, they are NOT maggots, but baby praying mantises. Mantisi? Mantids. And yes, bug haters, there IS a difference. These are the fellows you DON'T want to squish in your garden. Trust me.  MORE Mojo! »

Desert Rose Cream and Sugar Set!

Yep, just when Mojo says, okay, this whole table coordination thing has gone too far, you can't possibly come up with anything else on the table that needs to be the exact same pattern as all the other stuff....along comes these two fellows.  MORE Mojo! »

Oopsie.

I saw my back yesterday, totally by accident when I tried to take off my bathrobe and inadvertently ripped the dressing off. I had to put it back together myself, with the wooden handle of a massage thingie my Favorite Younger Sister once gave me as a present (tools are what separate us from the animals!), and got a good look in the process.

Not being the extremely morbid type, I have not really seen my injuries in over a week, so this has been an education. I am happy to report it looks far far better than I imagined it would look, though still not pleasant. I will break this entry here so the squeamish will not be subject to my graphic descriptions.  MORE Mojo! »

Ceramic Bird Sculptures!

If you force me to admit it, I will say I rather like these fellows. Enough that, should they not sell, I will probably keep them instead of hurling them into the garbage and eliciting a minor thrill when I hear them break, which is the unfortunate destiny of some lesser crap. The stuff that shouldn't be burned in a wood stove, that is. If it's burnable, it goes in the kindling pile to await a lighted match, but if it is not burnable and/or is indeed made out of some sort of toxic materials Mojo will just admire the taste and/or savvy of the eBay community and quietly throw it out. But these guys are keepers. Not keepers enough to jealously hoard them and scream "MINE! MINE!" anytime anyone comes within a half a mile of them, but keepers enough that, should they not sell, Mojo would not mind them catching dust on a shelf somewhere. Because these are one of those so-ugly-they're-kinda-cute things that would actually make an acceptable gift in Mojo's admittedly odd world.  MORE Mojo! »
