green tea

Cause and Effect

Mojo makes a delicious iced drink based on green tea. It's really no big deal. Most people out there wouldn't like it, because both Mojo and her Favorite Husband like to water things down, such as juice or store-bought tea drinks. Otherwise they're too sweet. Yes, this complaint comes from a gal who has been known on rare occasions to have a chocolate bar for breakfast, but still I reiterate: juice and other drinks right out of the bottle are TOO SWEET. They need to be cut in half with water and iced. So there.  MORE Mojo! »

A Brief Vacation....

So many years ago, Mojo bought a tea plant. A real, honest-to-gosh, pluck-a-leaf-and-throw-it-in-boiling-water Camellia sinensis sort of plant. It was all part of her continuing quest for self-reliance and self-sufficiency; she thought maybe if she could have a personal source to supply her caffeine addiction it would be better than relying on The Man.  MORE Mojo! »

IN WHICH Mojo Does Her Civic Dooty.

Got up nice and early to get to the voting place (aka the town's elementary school) to cast my ballot.

The great thing about small town voting is, you know everybody there, and instead of those scary computer thingies we still use folded slips of paper and pencils and big X's to denote our choices. The dragonflies are finally back. They are starting to zoom about the yard. I am SO GLAD to see them. Dragonflies are voracious predators, and already the blackfly population has declined to the point where I can stand outside longer than two minutes without having my eyes divebombed.

And I actually got part of the lawn mowed on Friday! I should have mowed ALL of it, but I had to stop in the middle to go rescue someone who was at work and needed an excuse to leave early. I will not narc on them and say who it is. It is my Civic Duty, and if my lawn may suffer So Be It. This person came up and hung out and read stuff while I mowed, and then helped me with a half-gallon of my favorite ice cream from The Scoop. It's called Chocolate Mint Oreo. It is even better than it sounds. Mint-flavored chocolate ice cream with cookies. Or maybe it's chocolate-flavored mint ice cream. Either way it is very yummy. They don't make it that often--though sometimes if you ask for it they have a tub hidden behind the counter where you can't see it--so whenever I find a tub of it in the freezer I HAVE to take it, even if it is a half gallon.  MORE Mojo! »
