lazinessA Brief Vacation....Submitted by Mary Jo on Wed, 11/18/2009 - 9:53am
So many years ago, Mojo bought a tea plant. A real, honest-to-gosh, pluck-a-leaf-and-throw-it-in-boiling-water Camellia sinensis sort of plant. It was all part of her continuing quest for self-reliance and self-sufficiency; she thought maybe if she could have a personal source to supply her caffeine addiction it would be better than relying on The Man. Whoohoo! Three years and counting! And, ironically, I woke up this morning to an email saying my new well pump is being shipped! So I will probably be spending a belated Burnday down at the Scene of the Crime installing the friggin' thing. Hooray! And while I keep thinking of taking another picture so folks can see the changes over the years, but luckily for all of you Mojo's laziness strikes again and you will have to use your imagination. Or you can stroll down memory lane and try to find the pictures yourself, and then just figure it must look better than that by now. In the meantime, you may celebrate in the calm, dignified manner you are so well known for, and remember the helpful tip I remember from the "Avoiding Future Burns" handout the hospital threw at me, which is: stay away from hot things. Especially if you're drunk. (And NO, I wasn't drunk at the time. Unless you count perpetually drunk on luuuuvvv for my Favorite Husband. But it is apparently a statistical factor in the cases they see.) Enjoy the day, and every day! Mojo IN WHICH Mojo Admits to a Terrible, Terrible Thing.Submitted by mojo on Mon, 07/13/2009 - 5:42am
I did something last week, and I've been ashamed ever since. It has been preying on my mind. It was one of those impulsive, spontaneous things--you know, the sort of thing you just sort of *DO* without thinking, and then when you do think the enormity of it all slowly dawns on you. Unlike my usual stammery attempts to find someone or something else to blame, I must take full responsibility here. It is yet another illustration of Mojo's storied laziness, this time carried to such an extreme I must now suffer the consequences in a very real and humiliating fashion. ![]() Mojo continues her week of laziness by just posting lolcats and loldogs. And today decides to post her favorites that have a sort of mental illness theme. Or maybe a demonic possession theme. Or both. Or neither. You decide. MORE Mojo! » Some More Pictures, For Your Enjoyment and EdificationSubmitted by mojo on Sat, 12/20/2008 - 2:25pm
I Don't Know What's Wrong With These Kids Today....Submitted by mojo on Thu, 11/01/2007 - 6:21am
Yesterday was a day of sloth, but I DID leave the house to go get the deathtrap inspected. I waited until the last day of the month because quite frankly I didn't think it would pass and I wanted to drag as much use out of it as I could. But I was pleasantly surprised that it passed. So I can beat another year out of the old beater. MORE Mojo! » Mojo the Slugabed...Submitted by mojo on Tue, 06/26/2007 - 6:24am
I stayed in bed until five thirty this morning, which is a major sleeping-in for me! I attribute this sudden laziness to yesterday, when I took my Five-Year-Old Friend to see the mountain laurel sanctuary over in Union. It's just a little ways west of the intersection of I-84, off of Route 190. We've been going there since we were kids, but I haven't been in several years. Mojo has been hanging out with a five-year-old friend for some time, now. So much time that in a couple of months he will be graduating to a six-year-old friend. When we first started hanging out on a regular basis I could tire him out just by taking him on a mile or two hike in the woods. He would come back utterly exhausted and fall asleep in the car on the way home. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Let me make something perfectly clear. Despite my occasional rants on this blog, Mojo is *NOT* a crusader. Mojo really doesn't give a hang should some total stranger decide to throw their money at someone or something. Indeed, Mojo is cruelly Darwinian when faced with the proverbial equation of The Fool plus His Money. Probably because Mojo's tastes run so utterly opposite most of society's, and she has long ago abandoned any attempts to stem the tide. Ah, maturity. Or laziness. Whichever. MORE Mojo! » |
