Mojo's Familiar

Sadie PortraitSo Mojo's been remiss regarding her blog. Because life has become quite busy, lately. First because we spent a week or so vacationing up in Maine, where poor Rosie was subjected to the cruelty of sea water for the first time. And then we came back to find the house--sans feline since Ratty's demise--a little too mouse-ridden for even Mojo's decidedly laid-back taste.

So Mojo started the Serious Campaign for a New Cat. Which wasn't all that hard, mind you, since the Favorite Husband, despite his insistence that he is indeed a macho cat-disliker, privately and secretly LIKES CATS, as indeed he (like Mojo) pretty much likes anything that doesn't try to actively draw blood from him. So he was okay with the idea of a cat, so long as Mojo got one who was "exactly like Ratty". Minus the yowling, of course, although the Favorite Husband has remarked more than once about how he misses the yowling.

And Rosie, for her vote, desperately wanted a cat. It would give her something new to chew on. Rosie LOVES cats, but in true cat-bewildering fashion she loves them and attempts to play dog games with them. Like "duck down suddenly and attempt to break your opponent's leg". She would attempt to play this game with Ratty, who didn't have a clue what the game entailed. She would suddenly duck down, lunge forward and grab one of the cat's forepaws. (Very gently.) And hold it. And Ratty, who was a very laid back cat who liked the dog right back, would stand there with his held paw up above his head in the dog's Jaws-o-Death and patiently await the release of his appendage. Sometimes they would stand there for a good five minutes, awaiting some resolution to this, uh, "game".  MORE Mojo! »

IN WHICH Mojo Goes on a Rant, and Comes Out the Other End None the Wiser.

So Mojo's Favorite Husband has been sick for about a week, and on Friday he finally went to the doctor's. He got antibiotics and spent the weekend on the couch watching movies and napping. Which meant Mojo spent much of the weekend watching movies and napping. And since Mojo is one of those kind, saintly, laid-back "whatever you wanna do is cool with me, dear" sort of wives, it was pretty much Husband's Choice for movies all weekend. Which is not always the greatest thing in the world.  MORE Mojo! »

Mojo LIES to You Yet Again...

Submitted by mojo on Tue, 12/22/2009 - 5:25am

Honestly, how much more of this are you going to take? When we last heard from Mojo, she was insinuating that she and her Favorite Husband got into some sort of screaming match over shoveling the driveway. While we are all used to Mojo's pathetic lies she sometimes uses to try to make her boring life more exciting than it actually is, you really have to draw the line when she decides to drag her Favorite Husband's good name into her spewing pile of slander. Specially since he's rarely online and hence cannot defend himself against her dreadful pointy words.

For Mojo's claim that she and her Favorite Husband have ever indulged in a "shrieking screamfest" about ANYTHING, let along something as banal as snow shoveling, is just cruelly not true. Mojo just thought some DRAMA and DISH-THROWING might add some spice to the blog. While Mojo would like nothing better than to promote the fiction that her life is indeed a purposeless charade of petty complaints and recriminations, her Favorite Husband is actually a Very Nice Person who deserves better than being characterized as someone who would yell at anyone, let alone the Love of His Life. (Ahem! That would be me.)  MORE Mojo! »

A Brief Observation About the Stupid Cat.

Submitted by mojo on Wed, 03/11/2009 - 6:23am

funny picturesYes, it's about Ratty again, here on the left starring in his very own lolcat. As much as Mojo desperately wishes this blog does NOT turn into one of those "Mister Fluffy is SOOOoooo cute!" sort of fiascos, there is something about emotionally needy and/or traumatized animals dealing with the temporary loss of a household member (as of course you know, my Favorite Husband is away for the week, dodging drug cartels down in Mexico--although I talked to him last night and he says the situation where he is is actually BETTER than it was when he was there three years ago. Back then the day he showed up Unfriendly People had just bombed a newspaper office and authorities were driving around with machine gun turrets on their cars. The locals tell him it was much worse then but for some reason back then it didn't make the news like it's making the news in Juarez today. Anyway, the Favorite Husband reports that it's actually pretty laid back so he went shopping and bopping about and it's all totally cool) ....

...where was I? Oh, yes, the stupid cat.  MORE Mojo! »
