So Mojo has sadly resigned herself to the fact that the Evil V will never, ever EVER give her DSL internet.

Mojo is okay with reality. She doesn't spend too much time moping or wishing things were different or droning endless affirmations reflecting how she would like her life to be under the delusion that doing so will somehow change things. She is happy enough with her MiFi, and for any HUGE uploads she goes visiting other people under the pretense that she likes them, when really she just wants to jump on their wireless to upload another pointless YouTube video. It's what she calls a "social life".

But after hearing a happy tale from a luckier person (who we suspect is just throwing her extreme internet happiness in Mojo's face, but once again whatcha gonna do), she thought she'd see if Evil V's competitor, AT&T, might be willing to supply home phone and internet. So she goes to AT&T's site and plugs in her address to see if any form of high speed internet is available in her area.  MORE Mojo! »

...Especially to Karen Moy, writer of the Mary Worth comic strip, for a full year of entertainment right up to the very end. Because nothing says "Christmas" to Mojo like "child abduction", which is what Mary is dealing with right at the moment! Or, rather, she is dealing with a bureaucratic police dispatcher who is demanding Mary's life story before they decide whether or not to send the police around to check out Mary's allegations that she's seen the child in question at a diner getting free ice cream.

Mary Worth has been so awesomely entertaining this year, and we have the fun and all-around good sport Karen Moy, serial strip writer extraordinaire, to thank. Who not only started up the Mary Worth Merch Shop on Cafepress, but who also very recently added a sly boots self-reference that warmed Mojo's cynical and cracked heart-cockles like nobody's bidness:

It turns out my Favorite Husband might be going away on bidness for the rest of the week. He doesn't know yet. Since his new car is due for service he will have to take my little pickup and *I* will take the new one, so I can get it to the dealer.  MORE Mojo! »

So Mojo declares. Eight to twelve inches this morning, according to the weather report. That's up a couple of inches from the original estimates.

I've cut, split and stacked enough wood for the next two weeks (lazy! I could have probably done a lot more, but I'm out of shape) so today I'm going to kick back, take a nice long hot bath, and then flop around the house in my bathrobe until I get bored. Then I will probably clean house. It needs it.

I can't believe the news is still doing reports along the lines of "AHHH! SNOW! TREACHEROUS DRIVING! AHHH!" I mean, c'mon, people. If we've survived this long, I'm guessing people know how to drive in the snow. I am more concerned about my Favorite Husband's bidness trip to Mexico next week than I am about him driving today...
